Mental Health

Mental Health and Addiction

The link between mental health problems and addiction cannot be understated. According to the National Institute of Health, almost half of all individuals who struggle with addiction are also diagnosed with another form of mental health disorder(s). Because the rate of co-occurrence is so high, it is paramount that treatment programs are able to adequately treat both mental health and addiction.

Dual Diagnosis

Dual diagnosis treatment is the process of treating multiple types of mental health disorders. For the purpose of our program, this is essential. Since addiction and mental health disorders can often mimic each other, it is hard to know if one is merely a symptom of the other. Our team specializes in treating the underlying condition, not just the disorders we see on a surface level.
Soulful Recovery aims to treat some of the most common types of co-occurrence. This includes mental health diagnosis, such as:

Trauma & Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Attention Deficit Disorder

Various Mood Disorders

Major Depressive Disorder

General Anxiety Disorder

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

How Does It Work?

When you or your loved one contact our team, we will conduct an intake assessment. This includes asking questions to better understand your needs and pre-existing diagnosis and experiences. From here, we will create a personalized treatment plan to address both your substance use and mental health disorders. Since one’s mental health symptoms may change over time with the proper treatment, our team will consistently re-evaluate your treatment protocol and adjust as needed to best help our clients work with their diagnosis.
